As a Pathology Assistant, you help us fulfill this mission by delivering exceptional, reliable Anatomic Pathology services. All the while, your dedication will continue pushing the needle forward in innovative and transformative healthcare treatment and research.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—6:00pm| call rotation for weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens for examination, holding and transport/shipment.
Assist with the preparation of freshly removed surgical specimens for cytologic studies.
Enter accession cases into the laboratory information systems.
Perform high complexity laboratory testing in a compliant manner according to direction.
Assume responsibility for and take action regarding any quality control or quality assurance issues.
Maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with specifications.
Perform proficiency testing in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations (e.g., analyze proficiency survey sample in the same manner as a patient specimen, no communication with other CLIA laboratories, complete record retention and accurate documentation and result reporting).
