We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing products, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving operational excellence. This leader will also work closely with Data Engineers to build and operationalize the AI/ML pipeline that powers SpyCloud’s cutting-edge products.

You’ll be leading a team of engineers with a range of experience, fostering their growth while ensuring the stability and scalability of our software systems. We value collaboration, transparency, and a culture of continuous improvement—and most importantly, we believe in keeping work fun!

What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers by providing coaching, and career development opportunities.
• Own the team’s roadmap, balancing product needs with technical debt and system stability.
• Remove roadblocks and proactively identify potential issues that could impact team productivity.
• Promote software development best practices, design principles, and operational excellence.
• Actively participate in technical discussions and be ready to step in to assist when necessary.
• Cultivate a culture of collaboration, open communication, and continuous learning.
• Align your team’s work with business goals, ensuring effective contributions to company success.
• Work cross-functionally with DevOps, Customer Support, and Product Management to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide hands-on leadership, offering technical guidance and participating in architectural decision-making.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members, ensuring the right skill sets and resources for success.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in an Agile environment.
• 3-5 years of experience leading engineering teams (4+ individuals).
• Experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems in AWS.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to evaluate design trade-offs and make sound architectural decisions.
• Hands-on leadership approach—you’re not afraid to get into the code when needed.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, DevOps and Customer Support teams.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and backlog management.
• Prior experience as a software engineer is required.
