Job Description

Currently seeking a School Aide for Francis of Paola ELC in Williamsburg, BK.

Role Description:

  • Part Time | Monday-Friday
  • Hours (range): 8:45 A.M-2:00 P.M 
  • Responsibilities include: Implementation of activities designed to facilitate the intellectual, sensorimotor and effective development of a student in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • This is a per diem, temporary position based directly on an IEP mandate for a 1:1 aide and is limited to the duration of a student’s IEP.
  • Participate in activities outside the classroom when necessary (e.g. playground, field trips, gym etc.); interact with the student; and address the student’s safety and physical needs.
  • Understand the nature of the student’s disability and its impact on the student’s performance; be familiar with the student’s IEP objectives including the educational purpose and methodology; be familiar with the student’s medical alerts and EPOP (Enhanced Protective Oversight Plan).
  • Communicate observations and/or concerns re: student’s physical and/or psychological status to appropriate personnel verbally as well as in written form when requested.
  • Handle emergencies as per policy and procedures and/or stated behavioral programs.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, staff. parents and outside personnel.

Pay: $18.00/hr

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Candidates with experience working with students with disabilities are preferred.
  • HS Diploma required.
