Production Test Engineers (PTE) are part of a manufacturing team who support the test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities.  PTEs validates and ensures compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment.  Interns will support the troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures while identifying opportunities in test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity.  

This position is onsite at our Ft. Bliss (El Paso, TX) facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the validation of new or modified test equipment for production use
  • Ensure the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate
  • Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product
  • Monitor and improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields
  • Perform preliminary investigation of problem resolution
  • Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours by the start of Summer 2026
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PPT, Project, or Word)
  • Experience/education with data analysis
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Preferred majors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting 
  • Experience with technical writing 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment  
  • Ability to develop sustaining solutions to routine technical problems 
  • Experience/education with interpretation of technical documentation 
  • Experience/education with project execution 
  • Experience/education with data analysis
