JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Learning Management System Administrator manages the LMS's operations, content maintenance, troubleshooting, system updates, reporting, and user support.  Collaborates with training and development professionals to deliver education and content to meet the organization's needs.  Interfaces with the system vendor to resolve issues, enhance functionality, and deploy new features.  Creates and runs reports for compliance to track and measure education participation. Loads, configures, tests, and maintains learning content.  Creates learning documentation, aids, and training materials for users.  Conducts system training sessions for end-users, instructors, and other administrators.  Collaborates with the leadership and education teams and project leads to address evolving learner needs while ensuring consistency, ease of use (for both course developers and learners), adherence to accreditation requirements, and support the Mission and Vision of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, and/or a related field

Two years of Learning Management Systems (HealthStream) administration experience required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

LMS Certification preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides daily operational oversight for Learning Management System (LMS).
  2. Maintains knowledge of system settings and its impact to all users of the system and identifies inter-dependencies with other tasks/applications. 
  3. Leads the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades or patches and notifies education team of system updates. 
  4. Serves as the lead contact for support issues, including interactions with LMS(s) and related supported services.
  5. Manage the vendor relationships with the LMS provider.
  6. Drive the collaboration with the LMS vendor to facilitate technology integration, maintenance, and implementation of updates/upgrades.
  7. Proactively make recommendations for improvements to content management, workflow processes, and learner experience in the LMS.
  8. Provides support and direction to ensure instructors and staff have resources required to meet requirements related to technology needs.
  9. Provide general staff training related to the use of the LMS across the organization and specialized staff training for others on the education team.
  10. Develops, implements, and maintains staff professional development/required training curriculums. Continuously monitors progress of assigned staff training to ensure annual requirements are met.  Prepares compliance reports of training progress and communicates compliance concerns to appropriate leaders.  Maintains accurate records for all professional learning.
  11. Collaborates with various departments to aid in the creation of education programs including courses, classes, and testing. 
  12. Maintain and update system for categorizing and tagging content to ensure that all content in the LMS is easily searchable and allows users to intuitively navigate to the specific content of interest to them.
  13. Conduct routine audits on learning content within the LMS to ensure performance, quality assurance, and compliance with established standards.
  14. Partners with Human Resources to coordinate the integration of educational processes and populations into the organization’s orientation programs. The populations include faculty, staff, students, visiting professionals and targeted volunteers. May include in-person and/or group presentation for orientation and training.
  15. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA and other accrediting and regulatory bodies regarding education requirements.  Provides reports and education needed during surveys. 
  16. Participates as a member on organizational committees pertaining to education and evaluation.
  17. Assist with ad-hoc projects within the team and other administrative tasks as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong written, oral and presentation communication skills

Experience in adult education, classroom instruction and curriculum development, and design of online training.
