At CESO, a Staff Accountant I supports day-to-day accounting functions with a focus on transactional accuracy and learning firm-specific processes. The Staff Accountant I works under guidance to prepare financial data, support internal departments, and maintain accurate project and company records.

Primary Responsibilities
- Complete basic project setups in alignment with contract terms.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate processing and timely invoicing.
- Prepare and process monthly client invoices.
- Monitor project accounts receivable and escalate discrepancies.
- Assist with maintaining project financial records.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Enter accounts payable, code invoices, process payments, and perform reconciliations.
- Post daily cash receipts and clear bank activity in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Generate routine reports and respond to internal and external inquiries.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail by reviewing work for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Maintain effective organizational systems to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.
- Utilize strong analytical and communication skills to support decision-making and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- 0-2 years of experience is preferred.
- A/E industry experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles is preferred.
- Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with accounting software, Deltek is preferred.
