How will you make an impact in this role?

Responsible for architecting and implementing Cloud solutions for American Express spanning across public cloud providers and on-premise

As a Senior Engineer in Cloud Engineering, you will be a key to the development of Hybrid Cloud Platform as Service (PaaS) architecture and systems that span multiple clouds ( AWS, GCP,Azure, Private Cloud). In this role you

·        Perform Rapid POCs to prove software initiatives and validate ideas for large multi cloud platform deployments

·       Actively participate in the design of new systems and the redesign of existing systems to meet product requirements, changing needs

·       Support engineers and product managers in rapid development and deployment in agile fashion

·       Drive both high level and detailed design, conduct design reviews, and feature implementation

·       Engage and work with cross-functional leaders to understand and help define business principles, goals and strategy within scope of responsibility.

·       Communicate to senior leaders with regard to strategy direction and changes.

·       Mentor engineers and solution architects to ensure technology complexities are understood very clearly to implement solutions expeditiously with high quality.

·       Troubleshoot production issues by engaging support teams and assist in the resolution of issues; formulate action plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and create/update support Runbooks

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field

6+ years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering

6+ years of experience in software development using golang, python or java

4+ years of experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems design and architecture

Preferred Qualifications

AWS/GCP/Azure/OpenShift experience

CKD/A, Public cloud solution architect certifications

Terraform, Ansible experience
