About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Work one on one with the Commercial Property Business Product Owners to identify and prioritize multi/cross team initiatives, enhancements, maintenance, and support items. Become SME with knowledge across:
    • Pinpoint
    • ProMetrix
    • FlightDeck
    • SCOPES/Risk Engineering
  • Serve as the primary contact to define, document, and track changes for functional and business requirements in JIRA.
    • Business Product Owners write stories for their own individual project- the Technical Product Manager’s responsibility is to define priority across all 3 functions and ensure they are included in conversations around enhancements and changes to ensure issues are mitigated up front.
    • Drive requirements for future projects
  • Collaborate with ProMetrix, Field Services and REG business units to plan quarterly and yearly releases to properly budget and allocate technical resources.
  • Effectively communicate to all parties any issues or roadblocks that may hinder production releases or testing schedules.
  • Write detailed, universally understood procedures for permanent records and use of training in Confluence, ensuring interconnectivity across all applications.
  • Create & maintain internal data dictionary for the System (multiproduct)

    • Make sure stays current with future enhancements
  • Create and Maintain System Workflow Diagrams
  • Coordination with IT testing and REG business validations for:
    • SCOPES Admin Web
      • CSP Manager
      • Conversion Factor Management Tool

      • ELC
      • Loss Cost
    • ProMetrix Reports via API/Web -
      • Risk Engineering Utility - REU
      • BUR/PDR/BUF
      • LCQ
      • ELC
      • Sprinkler Assessment
      • Rating Survey Details
      • PPC
    • PPCRecon
    • RHP
      • Single Occupancy Updates/Verification
      • Country Batch (Field Services)
      • ELA
    • Assist with Underwriting and Loss Cost Report
      • Changes
      • Updates
      • Improvements
      • Data quality issues
  • Coordinate annual pen testing and technical updates/initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for improving Commercial Underwriting and Field Services business processes and assist in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems or operational changes.

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in this Role

  • 5 years commercial property insurance product, underwriting, and/or channel management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (in a field such as business administration, software development, data science or statistics) or equivalent/related work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with large data sets and distil critical business insights from them
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, connecting products and processes for internal efficiency and external stakeholder solutions.
  • An innovative mindset, open to new ideas and challenges outside of what is known or comfortable

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity working with C# applications
  • Underwriting experience in Commercial insurance preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile software development principles and use of the JIRA platform
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Power Automate and Microsoft Forms
