About the role

Summary

The Department of Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Manager to lead the Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics at the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center McNair Campus. This leadership role ensures efficient, effective, and patient‑centered outpatient operations across both specialties. The ideal candidate will collaborate with section leadership to develop and implement the clinics’ strategic vision, drive operational excellence, and support growth initiatives. Responsibilities include managing day‑to‑day operations, supervising staff, optimizing workflows, and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. The candidate will also leverage financial, operational, and clinical metrics to identify challenges and implement data‑driven solutions.

 

The Clinic Operations Manager will support 28 faculty by serving as their primary operational liaison, onboarding, credentialing, and resolving workflow issues. They will also oversee more than 40 staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and staffing coverage. In addition, the manager will ensure efficient daily clinic operations, monitor key performance and financial metrics, lead process improvement initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and partner with leadership on strategic planning and patient experience efforts.

 

This position is located at our McNair Campus.

Job Duties

  • Oversees efficient daily operations for the Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics. 
  • Manages clinic staff , including defining responsibilities, setting performance goals, and conducting annual evaluations. 
  • Coordinates physician scheduling and template management using QGenda and EPIC. 
  • Manages supplemental pay requests, reimbursements, supply needs, and other clinic-related expenses. 
  • Monitors budgets and analyze financial and operational data for all clinical programs. 
  • Supports program development, referral growth, network integrity, and marketing initiatives to advance clinic performance and expansion. 
  • Prepares, interprets, and presents program data and reports for physician leadership and section administration. 
  • Identifies opportunities for operational and clinical process improvement and lead related improvement initiatives. 
  • Develops plans to optimize resource utilization, maintain clinic efficiency, and reduce operational costs. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
