Job Description

The job typically requires a technical degree, or equivalent, and 10+ years of experience. 

Administrative and hands on duties to include but not limited to, participation in facilities, machinery, and equipment repairs with outside contractors. Supports facility inspections. Participates in the monitoring and scheduling of semi-complex facility, machine, equipment activities, and service/request calls.   Work involves planning and performing work relating to the repair of buildings and grounds, mechanical and/or electrical equipment repair, installation and removal of equipment; and repairing building, floors, stairs, etc. Maintain SAP maintenance module. Create requisitions in SAP. Yearly maintenance contracts with vendors, emergency purchase orders with vendors. Reconcile all invoice discrepancies with vendor and accounting.  OEE of test stands and equipment. TPM of machines and equipment. Manages all vendors when on site.

Plans and performs jobs of installing and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, PLC components , Inverter repair and programming, switches, etc. Connects and disconnects electric powered machines, replaces fuses and sets circuit breakers on high and low voltage circuits. Diagnoses electrical trouble. Works from wiring diagrams. Planning may involve determination of method and sequence of operation and selection of materials to be used.

Under limited supervision and with minimal technical guidance, keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. May occasionally make replacement parts. Operators at this level perform intermediate troubleshooting, work with limited technical guidance and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. As required, may be required to oversee quality and workmanship of fellow team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Review OEE of test stands, Drive TPM for selected machines.
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed and costs of the work in SAP maintenance module. Create reports from SAP.
  • Manages outside vendors when at plant .
  • Document and report for monthly operations review.
  • Manage with vendors and indirect purchasing manager for emergency purchase orders and maintenance contracts for the equipment, building, and grounds.
  • Reconcile all invoice discrepancies with vendor and accounting.
  • Maintain SAP maintenance module.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings and grounds does not deteriorate.                                      
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing device.
  • Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, inverters, PLC's,  pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
