Finance Director - Hospital and Health System

Labcorp is hiring a Finance Director. The Finance Director – Hospital & Health System Business Partner will serve as a strategic financial partner to the Hospitals and Health Systems business, supporting the execution of core financial processes, driving operational excellence, supporting diligence and valuation related to Labcorp’s acquisition and hospital lab management strategy, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This role blends traditional financial oversight with a dynamic advisory approach to help stakeholders meet financial objectives in a complex healthcare environment. This role will report into the Vice President, Finance of Labcorp Diagnostics, and work closely with the Hospital & Health System strategy and operations leads.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly Financials: Own and manage month-end close processes, financial reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Transaction Valuation: Perform pre-Letter of Intent (LOI) valuations and understand how potential partners’ finances map to Labcorp’s needs. This responsibility requires a strong aptitude for financial modeling and attention to detail. Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) hospital finances is helpful. This role’s analyses support financial due diligence, scenario modeling, and integration planning and goal-setting for hospital lab acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- MSA Reporting: Lead Management Services Agreement (MSA) reporting, ensuring transparency, compliance, and timely communication across stakeholders. Conduct analysis on MSA proforma and cost savings efforts. Serves as voting member of MSA Finance Committee.
- Invoicing: Prepare and distribute accurate monthly invoices aligned with service agreements and business unit expectations.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate cross-functionally with business leadership and operations teams to guide financial strategy and resource allocation.
- Intelligence Database: Build and maintain MSA Business Intelligence Database, designing outputs and peer comparisons to enhance ability to compete.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop and maintain forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic financial models.
- Financial Insights: Translate data into actionable insights to support decision-making and performance improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance controls.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to company policies, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, preferably in healthcare or hospital systems.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven success in managing complex reporting and stakeholder relationships.
- Expertise with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g. Oracle, Strata Decision Support, Alteryx).
- PeopleSoft, SBASE, Access experience preferred.
- Extensive Excel experience.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- HFMA certification preferred.

Pay Range: $175-190K salary
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees / certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
