The Solar and Storage Industries Institute (SI2) is the charitable and education arm of SEIA. The institute uses policy research, public education initiatives, and direct outreach to policymakers to explain the benefits of clean energy and develop pathways to widespread solar and storage use.

Position Summary:
The Financial Operations and Grants Manager will report to the Director of Operations and Administration and work closely with the SI2 team to execute grants and contracts awarded to SEIA and SI2. The position will primarily be responsible for supporting SI2 staff in their efforts to secure and manage external grants and contracts, including but not limited to grant applications, contractual negotiations, budget building, and project tracking against budget. The position is also responsible for managing grant and/or contractual reporting activities, assisting with the Single Audit process, managing the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, and leveraging accounting software and IT systems to effectively perform duties.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support contract management for various types of federal government contracts and grant awards, from proposal submission to award setup and closeout.
- Ensure the proper allocation and management of funds, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting for all grants and contracted projects.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and protocols.
- Manage the production of periodic financial reports; ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Leverage accounting software and IT systems to effectively perform duties.
- Assist principal investigators with key documentation for post-award submissions to external sponsors.
- Monitor and support compliance with organization-wide grant management and compliance-related policies and procedures.
- Assist with interpreting and applying federal, multilateral, and private funder statutes, rules, and regulations regarding grant administration.
- Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, deliverables, budgets, and contract terms and conditions.
- Contribute to the annual Single Audit process and prepare the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) in a timely manner.
Requirements
Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field; any combination of education and heavy accounts payable experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
