This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Come lead the team where technology innovation and forward-thinking individuals develop the technologies and system solutions to enable the nation's next generation weapon systems to survive in the world’s most hostile environments. The qualified applicant will be responsible for Advanced Survivability Technologies within the Research and Advanced Design directorate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Define, develop, integrate innovative IR, Visual, Acoustic Survivability designs for future and emerging vehicle systems
Develop and execute Research & Technology roadmaps, supporting internal NG customers and external customer objectives, for both internal and external investment.
Manage a diverse set of Advanced Survivability CRAD and IRAD development programs.
Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of research program, and management of engineering staff
Define strategies for technology research, Customer and University/Lab engagement, identifying key areas of technology growth and projection into NG products
Key interface with external Customers and National Experts in the field
Develop new business in the Survivability field

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience OR Master’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 6 years experience within aspects of IR/Visual/Acoustic Survivability design and integration including requirements development, analysis, design, technology integration with vehicles and subsystems, performance validation
Experience leading and managing innovative teams of scientists and engineers to deliver complex Survivability solutions in accordance with performance, schedule, and cost commitments
Experience in working with customers and industry for design and integration of materials technology
Good oral and communication skills are a must to convey project ideas, approaches, benefits, and status to senior leaders and incorporate feedback into plans
Active DoD Secret with a background investigation completed within the last 5 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable time as determined by business needs
Ability to travel ~25%
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Engineering/Physics or Related Degree
Engineering and Program Management Experience
Active Top-Secret Clearance
