Materials Lab Technician

Purpose

Perform standardized Materials Lab tasks including metallographic preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing), and some powder characterization tasks. 

Operate optical microscope. 

Assist technical staff with development efforts. 

Monday - Friday 1st shift, 8 am – 4:30pm 

The Role

• Metallography 
• Optical imaging/microscope operation 
• Hardness Testing 
• Powder characterization 
  • Particle size distribution 
  • Chemical analysis 
  • Powder flow meter  
  • Humidity testing 
• Adhesive characterization 
• Adhesive test sample preparation 

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
• High School Diploma, Current college student (science or engineering) 
• Experience in a laboratory environment 
• Highly proficient in verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to interpret technical documents and work instructions 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 
• Ability to carry up to 30lbs 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with metallography, metallographic preparation, microscopy is a plus 

Work Environment

• Laboratory Environment 
• Toxic or caustic chemicals – 5-10% 

Pay Range$21—$28 USD
