Position Summary
The University of Denver is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Club Figure Skating Coach to lead our Club Figure Skating team for the 2025- 2026 season. This position requires an experienced coach with a strong background in figure skating and experience coaching at a high level. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, disciplined, and motivating environment to help student-athletes reach their full potential.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Assist the head coach in planning and running two weekly practices (2 hours each)
- Attend and support team at weekend events and tournaments (travel required)
- Provide constructive, individualized, and team-wide feedback to enhance performance
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership skills
- Has a passion for working with athletes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster team spirit, motivate athletes and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the team's training and competition schedule.
- Knows how to balance fun with competitiveness and wants the players to enjoy their experience on the team.
Required Qualifications
- Familiar with US Intercollegiate Figure Skating rules
- Experience coaching all levels
- Willing to travel with the team & put skaters on the ice for competition
- Able to assist in choreographing programs and teaching pattern dances
- Willing to collaborate with the board and president in decision-making processes, including (but not limited to) determining event starts
- USFS Coach Compliance and Regulations (ex. SafeSport, Liability Insurance, etc.)
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)
- CDC Heads Up Concussion Training Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)
Work Schedule
- This position will average 8-15 hrs/week.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the team's training and competition schedule.
- Able to commit to traveling to away games, 2-3 weekly practices each week in the evenings and weekends for games.
- Ability to coach from September to end of March (no coaching during summer or winter break).

Hourly Range
The hourly range for this position is $20.00-$25.00.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status
