Role Overview

Coupang is seeking a seasoned security leader with deep experience in security policy, AI governance, and enterprise-level governance strategy to join the Security Governance team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of security, risk, and business enablement—and who can take on broader leadership responsibilities within the Security Governance function as the team evolves. 

You will play a central role in shaping Coupang’s security governance framework, driving policy management, overseeing governance for emerging technologies like AI, and collaborating cross-functionally across regions and subsidiaries. We’re looking for someone who can translate complex security and regulatory requirements into scalable, business-aligned programs that strengthen security posture while enabling innovation. 

What You Will Do

• Lead and evolve Coupang’s enterprise security governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures that align with business priorities and regulatory obligations. 

• Drive the development and implementation of AI governance and responsible use frameworks in collaboration with stakeholders across Legal, Tech, and Compliance. 

• Act as the owner of Coupang’s security policy lifecycle, ensuring policies remain relevant, accessible, and effectively adopted. 

• Partner with InfoSec, Legal, and Business leadership to establish and scale governance models. 

• Contribute to high-impact strategic programs such as data retention and the business-centric service catalog through structured governance operations. 

• Monitor internal needs, industry standards, and regulatory trends to proactively improve Coupang’s governance framework. 

 Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, policy, law, risk management, or a related field. 

• 10+ years of experience in information security, security governance, or compliance—with a proven track record of leading cross-functional governance initiatives. 

• Expertise in security policy development, AI risk management, and global compliance frameworks. 

• Strong collaboration skills and experience working with Legal, Compliance, Engineering, and senior business leaders.
