About the role

Overview

In accordance with the mission of the EVMS Medical Group, the MFM Princess Anne Nurse Manager I will function under the direction of the MFM SPAH Practice Manager and in coordination with the MFM, MIGS, Generalist and Urogynecology Division Directors.  This position is responsible for the day-to-day clinical workflow and oversight of the clinical practice at SPAH.

Responsibilities

EVMSMG Quality of Standards and Patient Safety & Quality Care initiatives related to direct patient care to include clinical staff training and workflow implementation. 

 

Clinical staff orientation, training, ongoing staff development and clinical workflow implementations.

 

Clinical staff schedules/assignments.

 

Support protocols for delivery of clinical care through clinical staff training and workflow implementation.

 

Supervise clinical nursing staff, RN, LPN, and MA in MFM SPAH.

 

Understand and practices operational, capital, and staffing budgets as assigned by the Department’s Operations Manager.

 

Maintains appropriate clinical staffing levels and plan appropriately for clinical staffing needs in MFM SPAH.

 

Employs, evaluates, and terminates clinical staff personnel in coordination with the MFM SPAH Practice Manager, Department Operations Manager and EVMS Human Resources.

 

Maintains OSHA, CLIA standards, and requirements.

 

Maintains adequate supply levels for all MFM SPAH patient care areas, including medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical supplies.

 

Assist in all clinical aspects of patient care in MFM SPAH to include; triaging of patient inquiries/concerns regarding medical care, medication instructions, assist providers with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.

 

Conducts performance evaluations in coordination with the MFM SPAH Practice Manager and MFM Division Director. 

 

Ensures smooth patient flow in all clinical areas.

 

Monitors clinical staff electronic health record documentation and quality charting techniques to ensure compliance with medical records standards. 

 

At all times, maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the clinic.

 

Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the physician.

 

Sets up and assists for various procedures.

 

Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked nursing areas.

 

Attends required in-service training.

 

Attends required meetings.

 

Maintains continuing education units.

 

Adhere to all EVMS, EVMSMG, State and Federal, Polices & Procedures as well as Regulatory and Compliance guidelines

 

Demonstrates a positive leadership, customer service attitude/behavior.

 

Completes all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years of nursing experience is required (2 years must be supervisory experience). Licensed Virginia RN is required (or LPN with equivalent education and/or experience). Progressively more responsible positions in group practice management, in a large specialty group practice, strongly preferred.
