The mission of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) organization for Customer Solution Areas (CSA) in Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) is to accelerate revenue by removing technical blockers and providing sellers with proven, repeatable solutions across Microsoft’s Customer Engagement Methodology (MCEM). Position Description:
The Executive Office of the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of CSA CTO is hiring a Senior Communications Manager, reporting into the Chief of Staff (CoS). The Senior Communications Manager is a key member of the team responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy, inclusive of both internal and external communications. This role requires a breadth of communication experience and the ability to work quickly with agility across a variety of projects and stakeholders.
The successful candidate is self-directed with an ability to manage through ambiguity and look around corners to anticipate business needs. The role requires someone who is able to take on multiple facets of communications, from synthesizing complex business information into easily consumable messaging, to energizing the team via Townhalls, As Me Anythings (AMAs), and other leadership connection meetings, to supporting leadership with external engagements and storytelling via different formats and communication channels. Additionally, the role will support the Chief of Staff in building high quality and impactful content for the CVP’s external (customers, partners, communities) and internal engagements. The Senior Communications Manager will also work with the CoS to champion other aspects of the CTO rhythm of the business (ROB) with a communication lens.
This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities
Communications Strategy and Planning
- Develop the communications strategy for the CTO in alignment with larger communications and content strategy for CSA and MCAPS.
- Define tactics and plans in support of overall strategy, including identifying formats, channels, and calls to action, ensuring relevance of messaging across different channels.
- Understands needs of different types of internal and external audiences and adapts communications strategies accordingly.
- Envision methodologies for measuring return on investment (ROI) of communication approaches and make strategy adjustments where required.
Execution of Communication Strategy
- Manage the communications calendar, partnering closely with the CSA communications leads and all Solution Area communication leads.
- Develop core communications assets and materials to support strategy (communications plans, core messaging, thought leadership, narratives, presentations, social posts, talking points, frequently asked questions, briefing materials, scripting) for use across programs, launches, social media, videos, and events.
- Ensure content is aligned with the communication strategy and appropriately adapted across channels for each audience, while also ensuring consistency when needed.
- Develop and execute against workbacks to drive the creation of collaterals.
- Collaborate with and solicit feedback from stakeholder and iterate as appropriate.
