Position Description: 

The iSchool Staff Human Resources team provides support in the areas of recruitment, selection, hiring, compensation, payroll, confidential personnel matters (i.e. leaves, promotion, reclassifications), and general employee lifecycle processes for iSchool staff and temporary employeesWe are looking for a UW undergraduate student to provide general assistance to our team in the areas noted below. 

 

The individual in this position will work approximately 15 hours per week.   

 

Responsibilities may include some or all the following duties:  
 Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding Assistance (40%) 

  • Work with Staff HR team to track recruitmentselection, and onboarding processes.
  • Assist with candidate communication and interview scheduling coordination. 
  • Create selection review sites and maintain files/records for all selection processes
  • Create job postings on interfolio and Handshake.

Data Management (40%) 

  • Perform general data entry, manage and audit physical/electronic personnel files of student employees and staff. 
  • Support bi-weekly payroll audit and communicate with employees and supervisors regarding payroll deadlines and outstanding actions. 
  • Help track student training and onboarding. 
  • Update and manage the staff directory and organizational chart (using Visio) to ensure accuracy and accessibility. 

General Support (20%) 

  • Support management of shared email inbox by categorizing general HR inquiries and communicating with iSchool employees, applicants,and hiring managers as needed. 
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc projects, other HR processes, and errands as assigned. 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

  • Must be currently enrolled as a University of Washington undergraduate student for academic year 2025-2026 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word) 
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and writing
