About the role

A to Z Wineworks is looking for a full-time Accounting Specialist. This role is responsible for the accurate and authorized recording of transactions in the general ledger. It also provides timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This entails analyzing and reconciling transactional data, posting journal entries, preparing insightful financial schedules and reports, and monitoring internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information. Along with these accounting skills, the ideal candidate is someone who can build rapport and effective relationships across our three Oregon brands, combining commerce with conscience. You must be curious and willing to go beyond the surface to find opportunities to help our three brands grow in profitability while working in a fast-paced environment.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate transaction accounting within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, new vendors setup, and the purchasing workflow.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries as part of the regular month-end close.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting, insights, and other financial schedules, as requested, to support management and external reporting needs.
  • Support various accounting functions, including cost accounting, treasury, tax, fixed assets (CAPEX), and accounts payable.
  • Ensure timely and accurate support for CPA audits and lender field exams and provide complete and accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Crosstrain among other accounting and finance related roles including inventory management and compliance.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial operations, with a thorough knowledge of GAAP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong systems background, proficient in MS Office Suite, experienced in ERP and accounting software solutions.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization reporting preferred.
  • CPA or CMA desirable.
  • Must be able to stand or sit to work for extended time periods; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Your Compensation: 

$26 - $31 per hour
