At Tristero, we’re building crypto’s first performant decentralized dark pool. Today, if you’re trading on-chain, you’re broadcasting your trades to the world before they happen. Sophisticated actors systematically front-run all trades (MEV, stat arb), resulting in most high value trading activity remaining within the confines of centralized exchanges which share all of the downsides of the system crypto was meant to replace.
For the first time in history, it’s possible to trade on a market where you and only you have knowledge of your trade until it executes. This means complete autonomy through the entire trade cycle. We believe this is a paradigm shift for all market participants—not just those already in crypto today.We’re looking for an exceptional Back-End Software Engineer to join our team. We’re primarily looking for assistance on our cross-chain settlement engine, but we’ll always make room for other exceptional skills/experience.
What you'll do

• Build and improve back-end services that power our decentralized trading infrastructure
• Integrate new blockchains, DeFi protocols, and liquidity sources into our system
• Work on APIs that support our front-end, partners, and internal tools
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to design and scale systems
• Learn from a deeply technical team and grow your skills across the stack

What we’re looking for

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience
• Solid understanding of web back-end fundamentals—APIs, databases, services
• Strong curiosity about crypto, trading, or distributed systems
• Willingness to learn fast, ask questions, and take ownership of your work
• Bonus: contributions to side projects, open source, or anything crypto-related

Nice to have

• Experience interacting with blockchain data or smart contracts
• Familiarity with common DeFi tools (e.g., MetaMask, Etherscan, The Graph)
• Comfort working in a cloud environment (e.g., GCP, Docker)
• Knowledge of traditional finance APIs or data formats
