Reports to the Operations Manager, the Ambulatory Clinical Educator and Navigator Works collaboratively with providers, office associates and support departments to ensure patients receive the resources, care and education required to facilitate optimal patient care and experience. Ensures effective communication, provides education and navigate patients through their appointment experience.Collaborates closely with providers to ensure patients are educated and understand the concepts of fertility education medication and management. Counsels patients based on age, diagnosis and at providers direction. All pertinent patient communication and education is documented in the patient medical record. Assists the office in patient throughput during office visits.
Responsible for promoting a culture of accountability and transparency across all SEP offices and demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: State of KY LPN or RN license or State of Kentucky Athletic Trainer license and Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer or Certified SEP MA Tier III (CCMA, RMA, CMA, etc.).
FEMM Certification: If not certified at time of hire, must enroll in FEMM Teacher Certification course within 2 months of employment and complete FEMM Certification within 15 months of starting FEMM class. St. Elizabeth Physicians will financially cover the cost of this training.
EDUCATION:
Required: Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse,
Athletic Trainer (Minimum Bachelors)
FEMM Certification: If not certified at time of hire, must enroll in FEMM Teacher Certification course within 2 months of employment and complete FEMM Certification within 15 months of starting FEMM class. St. Elizabeth Physicians will financially cover the cost of this training.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Endocrinology or Obstetrical experience.
Experience in educating patients/students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, CLIA, and licensing/certification boards.
- Help patients understand and navigate the physical and emotional changes in their bodies from puberty to menopause.
- Educate patients on the critical role of hormones in the management of their health and body literacy.
- Educate patients on fertility charting for health and pregnancy; making it simple and integrated in their everyday life.
- Counsel patients to identify what is normal and healthy about their cycle. Educate on the science of their body to detect potential health issues and recognize days of ovulation
- Help patients achieve their health and fertility goals.
- Room patients following standardization guidelines including escorting patient to exam rooms, interviewing patient, address patient concerns about exam and measure vital signs. Clean and disinfect exam room upon completion of visit.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (refrigerator, expired meds, temperature, etc.)
- Communicate to patients with lab and test results, triage patient phone calls, perform medication refills, schedule patient visits, timely referral process and prior authorization.
- Enhances professional growth and development of self by participation in continuing education and in-service training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to work in team-based care and decision-making culture.
- Ability to work independently to educate patients as directed by providers.
- Ability to keep a clear head and calm demeanor when talking to patients, family, staff, and medical professionals.
- Understanding of electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
- Ability to understand written protocols, lab reference manuals and memos.
- Proficient communication, comprehension, reading and writing skills
- Ability to manage a steady volume of work accurately in a busy environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance.
- Must work carefully and precisely with attention to detail.
