About the role

The Licensed Electrician performs construction and maintenance electrical work. This position installs, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and fixtures. 

  • Valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver’s license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle policy criteria to become authorized as a driver 

  • Strong knowledge of and ability to perform electrical repair and maintenance. 

  • Ability to use hand and electrical tools. 

  • Ability to receive oral, written, and diagrammed instructions regarding installations, troubleshooting and maintenance based on current codes. 

  • Ability to follow safety rules and regulations. 

  • Time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects 

  • Ability to utilize TMA Facilities maintenance software on portable devices (e.g. iPod) 

  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays. 

  • Ability to be on-call 

 

An “Essential Personnel” Position: 

This is an “Essential Personnel” position, which can require that the incumbent report for duty and work through emergencies, and also can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work, or for the completion of a critical task. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

  • Journeyman Electrical License 

  • 3 years of electrical experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • 4 years of electrical experience
