Facilities & Security Technician III

Klickitat Valley Health is seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician III to join our team in a casual position. This role plays a key part in ensuring our hospital facilities, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. From repairing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to supporting seasonal grounds keeping and providing security coverage when needed, this position offers a diverse range of responsibilities that directly support quality patient care. Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required. 
• Basic computer skills required.
• Current Driver’s License
• Valid plumbing, electrical, or HVAC certification or licenses

Experience:

• Five (5) years of work experience in building maintenance/repair and/or the construction trades required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Safely operate and care for a variety of power and manual equipment and tools, various types of vehicles, a variety of facility-related equipment, HVAC mechanical systems, electrical components/fixtures, etc.
• Ability to use preventative maintenance (PM) software and email daily for work orders and communication with manager.
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of facility equipment and mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical/lighting, fire alarm protection systems, plumbing, grounds water/sprinkler systems, etc.) to troubleshoot and diagnose repair issues and system failures and perform general repairs on a wide variety of equipment throughout the facility.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic construction trades activities, including carpentry, electrical, drywall/plastering/painting/finish work, etc., to remodel and repair building, equipment, and mechanical systems failures or breakages.
• Requires critical thinking skills, the ability to make good decisions, listen and accept advice from others, demonstrate maturity and good judgment, and work with regular/general supervision.
• Perform various sensory requirements such as vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hearing to diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment and facility structural/mechanical systems, which entail the use of various senses to perform the duties required in this position.
• Promote/develop/deliver excellent customer service to internal (patients and staff) and external customers (visitors and vendors). 
• Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, volunteers, and the community. Communicate effectively both written and orally in English.
• Work productively and cohesively within a team and resolve conflict/differences positively.
• Maintain a calm and composed manner in emergency/stressful situations; take appropriate action as necessary to ensure operational functionality of hospital facility systems, maintain quality of patient care, and cope with the job's physical demands.
• Adaptability is essential to adjust to em
