A Brief Overview
The Division of Outpatient Behavioral Health is seeking a psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. The psychologist provides psychological services to patients throughout the CHOP outpatient program, participates in the educational experience of trainees, establishes plans and initiates professional growth and leadership within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, and presents work at the local or regional level.
The role of the Psychologist is to carry out diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based psychosocial intervention with a diverse population of children and families ranging from early childhood through adolescence. Treatment is provided to individual patients, families, and through group formats. The primary diagnosis addressed is ADHD though experience with differential diagnosis and intervention for commonly co-existing neurodevelopmental, internalizing and externalizing diagnoses is required. The ideal candidate will also have experience interpreting psychoeducational assessments and identifying learning/academic concerns. Advanced training in behavioral parent training, school consultation, behavioral health diagnostic evaluation, and experience working in a fast-paced setting such as an Academic Medical Center is preferred.
Psychologists are encouraged to support training across disciplines in our multidisciplinary department (child psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, and nurse practitioners) and to contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives in the division. Psychologists appointed to this position are strongly encouraged to join the faculty in Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine of University of Pennsylvania.
What you will do
Clinical Activity
- Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services to children and families, in inpatient, day hospital, and/or outpatient settings, and communicate with referral sources as indicated
- Perform clinical services at a percent of effort as designated by supervisor.
- Adhere to DCAPBS productivity standards.
- Present a scheduling template that rolls out, per department/division guidelines, delineating availability and anticipated vacation and conference time. Schedule must include the openings necessary to fulfill the percent of clinical effort designated by supervisor.
- Follow all CHOP and DCAPBS policies and procedures regarding clinical and administrative activity associated with providing direct patient care.
- Assure that professional practice is in accordance with applicable professional and licensing body standards
- Practice as an Independent Clinician
- Assure that CHOP, DCAPBS, Joint Commission and other regulatory body patient care standards are met.
