Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 online charter school with a substantial number of students. Our teachers are part of an educational team whose innovative approach to education is providing a dynamic learning experience for students across the state of Pennsylvania through cyber education. Job Purpose:

The High School Math Interventionist will work specifically with High School students (grades 9-12) who require strategic and intensive support in mathematics. The High School Math Interventionist will develop a student-centered menu of a group and individual strategies to close the achievement gap and strengthen student proficiency. The overarching goal of the High School Math Interventionist is to ensure that all High School students master grade-level essential standards and benchmarks, as well as meet adequate yearly growth goals.


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging online learning content. 
  • Assess and provide timely feedback on student work.
  • Interact with students and families through the course or school-related sharing of information.
  • Deliver whole-group and small group instruction during live virtual class sessions.
  • Hold office hours daily. 
  • Collaborate with High School staff to analyze student assessment data (standardized and local assessments) to identify students who are struggling or underperforming in the area of mathematics.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce and remediate core standards and benchmarks.
  • Deliver specific, differentiated interventions designed to improve student achievement outcomes.
  • Prepare differentiated lesson plans based on student grouping/tiering or gaps in achievement.
  • Use technology and one-on-one interaction to reinforce and reteach key mathematics concepts.
  • Analyze Math data for performance trends and identify areas of instruction in need of strengthening.
  • Participate in professional development for all staff.
    • Provide resources and training to school staff on evidence-based mathematics research and practices.
      Provide instructional coaching support (Ex. co-teacher, model, demonstrate, observe, and provide feedback) to teachers on using best practices in the area of mathematics.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that ensure a positive learning environment in the classroom.
  • Participate in curriculum development initiatives/programs. 
  • Participate in annual statewide testing 1-2 times per year (may require overnight travel).

  • Bachelor’s Degree
