Department Description
Strategic External Development (SED) is focused on developing new medicines to help improve our patient’s lives. SED utilizes Contract Development & Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to develop and manufacture medicines to support clinical trials. Process Engineering within SED focuses on understanding the manufacturing processes throughout the development and ensuring they will perform as expected during future manufacturing.
Job Description
This position will focus on assessing facility fit for manufacturing processes. The role will drive improvements to process platform mapping, authoring guidance on performing facility fit evaluations, and working with key team members to understand critical information needed when assessing facility fit. The role will also research emerging technologies relevant to our manufacturing processes. Other assignments may be provided as time allows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelors (Juniors or Seniors), Masters, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship (May/June ~ August 2025).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong knowledge of MS office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
- Previous pharmaceutical industry experience a plus, especially knowledge of large molecule manufacturing processes.

- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.
