Duties and Responsibilities:
This is independent work within the Division of Administrative Services/General Services planning and managing or coordinating all General Services functions for the agency. This position is responsible for but not limited to the following:
Manages, directs and oversees the programmatic and operational activities of the Office of General Services including mailroom operations, surplus property and property inventory, central supply program, warehouse operations, fleet operations, and Departmental security systems, including security personnel. This includes supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of staff in the performance of duties to carry out these functions.
Responsible for the oversight of building operations, maintenance functions, and office equipment operations for the R.A. Gray Building and other Departmental properties working with Division specific points of contact. Serves as point of contact and works directly with DMS facility management and security staff as well as vendors, contracts, and the corresponding budget regarding this facility. Manages and administers the Facility Inventory and Tracking System and State Energy Management Plan and serves as the Leasing Liaison between the Department of State and Department of Management Services for state facility and private leases. Also serves as the Department’s Emergency Response Team Chief for building evacuation matters and Continuity of Operations (COOP) matters.
Serves as the Department’s Safety Coordinator and responsible for implementation of the Department’s Safety Program. Serves as the Safety Program Coordinator as directed. Tracks workplace safety issues and resolutions, works with Department managers to correct unsafe conditions, and updates the Department’s Health and Safety Procedures, as needed. Monitors receipt of quarterly Safety Inspection Report forms, reviews for action items needed and implement
