Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper)

Position Summary

 

The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician is responsible for maintaining the Facilities environment in a clean and safe manner. The EVS Tech is also responsible for processing, storage and distributing of linen under the most sanitary conditions; to ensure that infection control is carried out during the laundering process. Housekeeping/Laundry processes need to be consistent with standards established by Administration in conjunction with the Infection Control and Safety Committees.

 

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is not required, but one must be able to read, understand written documents and write.
• Ability to read housekeeping schedules and follow oral directions.
• After training, be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Prior EVS experience in a Healthcare Facility preferred.
• Strong inter-personal skills are necessary.
