Position Overview

We are looking for an Associate preferably in an East or West Coast Bernstein office location that will focus solely on servicing Foundation and Institutional Advisory existing and prospective clients (primarily private foundations, nonprofit organizations, membership associations, faith based institutions). The Associate will work in a team environment supporting the national FIA sales and servicing effort for Bernstein Private Wealth Management, a subsidiary of AllianceBernstein L.P. with a dual focus on FIA business development responsibilities. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to act as an integral part of a centralized team while partnering with Advisors and teams nationwide; this includes portfolio analytics, national sales pipeline maintenance, drafting of investment policies, delivering pricing estimates, communicating directly with institutional board and executive teams on reporting and signatory issues and more.
An Associate for the FIA team will work as part of a centralized team supporting Bernstein’s foundation and institutional clients and their respective local Financial Advisor teams across the country. Specific sales responsibilities may include:
Serve as a resource for Foundation and Institutional questions that arise within the Private Wealth business. Maintain a strong working knowledge of tax-exempt organizations and the nonprofit, philanthropy, and membership association industries.
Prospective Client responsibilities include but not limited to: analyze and distribute market data, coordinate pricing estimates and assist with research and materials for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and sales presentations.
Onboarding responsibilities include but not limited to: partner with signatories, reporting contacts, and other critical parties to ensure successful implementation, participate in internal and client facing conference calls between critical parties, gather data and documents from signatories for account openings, coordinate asset transfer, and guide local onboarding process.
Client Servicing responsibilities include but not limited to: guiding the account opening process for new sales relationships across the country and advise on the processing of appreciated securities, mutual funds, and other nontraditional assets; coordinate internal approvals for IPS; prepare client reports and regular due diligence; marketing presentations and general troubleshooting in response to client inquiries.
Review Investment Policy Statements (IPS) for current and prospective FIA clients and provide thorough commentary.
Partner with both FIA team members and Advisor teams nationwide to accomplish a common goal of providing exceptional service.
Specific FIA business development responsibilities may include:
Maintain client and professional contact database in salesforce.com, distributing research communications and analyze internal data to identify trends and opportunities within the FIA business.
Work with internal teams including Wealth Strategists, Senior Investment Strategists, Fee Dept, Salesforce, and Reporting to design internal/external resources and improve business processes that drive FIA business priorities.
Partner with FIA team members to build FIA resources, marketing materials, and event presentations that showcase our offering and conduct research projects on thought leaders and competitors in the marketplace.
Process national charitable requests for donations and sponsorships, facilitating conversations with local teams, Accounts Payable, Community and Civic Engagement, and Marketing teams.
Interact and network with senior professionals throughout the firm to fuel career success.
Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with excellence in academics and strong leadership experience. Candidates should have two years of experience.
We are looking for accomplished team players who seek a rigorous and challenging environment for their career development. Candidates should be client-focused and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced atmosphere. They should also possess strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and an ability to build internal and external relationships. Proficiency in Word and Excel are required.
