Chaplain (PRN) – Hospice Homecare
Horry County, SC
McLeod Health is seeking a compassionate Chaplain (PRN) to provide spiritual support and guidance to hospice patients, families, and caregivers throughout Horry County. This position plays a vital role in delivering holistic care that reflects the mission and Core Values of McLeod Health.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and address the spiritual needs of hospice patients and families.
  • Provide compassionate counseling and emotional support to patients, families, and staff.
  • Assist in mentoring and educating chaplains, volunteer chaplains, and chaplain students.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to support quality patient care.
  • Prioritize patient needs and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while providing spiritual guidance and support.
  • Assist with weekend coverage and other departmental needs as assigned.
  • Uphold and promote the Core Values of McLeod Health.
 
Work Schedule
PRN (As Needed)
Serving patients throughout Horry County. Weekend coverage may be required based on departmental needs. Biweekly hours will not exceed 72 hours.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ordained Clergy required if no related degree is held.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing grief, stress, and emotional distress.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered spiritual care.
 
Licensure & Requirements
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Current automobile insurance as required by law.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet McLeod Health fleet insurance requirements.
  • Must meet McLeod Health driving eligibility standards.
  • Professional liability insurance encouraged.
