The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), under the general direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), will implement treatment plans for children with autism and other related disorders. They will maintain regular communication with their supervising BCBA and team. Mercy Kids Autism Therapy Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team at Mercy Mid-Rivers. In this role, you will work directly with children with autism and related developmental disorders, implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in one-on-one and group therapy settings.
Implement behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs as designed by the supervising BCBA.
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based ABA therapy services.
Collect, record, and summarize data on patient progress and maintain accurate documentation and graphs.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with the clinical team and caregivers.
Participate in ongoing supervision, accept feedback, and apply training to enhance clinical skills.
Manage daily responsibilities including documentation, material preparation, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
Maintain compliance with BACB ethical standards, HIPAA regulations, and RBT certification requirements.
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
One of the following is required:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, Child and Human Development, or a related field; or
Associate degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience; or
High school diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Certification
Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or
Ability to obtain RBT certification within 90 days of hire.
Candidates pursuing certification must complete the required 40-hour RBT Training Course and obtain a completion certificate prior to their start date.
Experience
Foundational knowledge of child development and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
At least 1 year of experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities.
Relevant experience may include:
Early childhood education programs
After-school programs
Coaching or youth development
Autism support services
Related caregiving or educational settings
Preferred Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Experience using de-escalation and behavior management strategies.
Familiarity with Verbal Behavior and Natural Environment Teaching (NET).
Experience with electronic data collection systems and clinical software.
Physical Requirements
Ability to maintain a variety of physical positions for extended periods, including standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to implement crisis intervention strategies following appropriate training.
Ability to respond quickly and safely to patient behaviors requiring immediate intervention.
Ability to lift, move, or assist with approximately 50 pounds.
