The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer:

• Describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.

• Begins to influence department’s strategy.

• Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

• Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

• Leads cross-functional conversations to present research and share knowledge across the enterprise.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (5 year minimum of data and analytics experience)

• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in SQL, with advanced experience in T-SQL and PL/SQL

• Advanced in SSIS, SSRS and Power BI development

• Intermediate to advanced in Power Apps and Power Automate

• Exposure to ASA Synapse (Azure Cloud Environment) and an understanding of PySpark and Notebooks in the Azure Cloud environment.

• Strong in Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

• Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

• Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

• Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

• Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree

• Data Architecture experience

• Advanced in SAS and other data systems

• Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

• Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Work at Home Guidance

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
