Role Description:

The Sr. Analyst, Logistics will support the transportation operations function for Oak Street Health. This critical role will help enable exceptional, cost-effective access to primary care for patients who are eligible for transportation services. This data-driven position supports the centralized transportation operations team by leveraging analytics to uncover financial and fleet efficiencies, shape operational strategy, and ensure effective resource allocation. The Sr. Analyst position will also support the coordination of a fleet of 600+ vehicle assets across multiple locations, assisting in the planning of daily transportation operations, ensuring company-wide compliance with the various legal obligations of interstate, intrastate, and federal regulatory agencies, while maintaining budgetary efficiency. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and optimizes complex logistics operations, making recommendations to management to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall transportation operations.

  • Conducts routine data analysis and generates reports to provide insights and recommendations for logistics process improvements and cost-saving opportunities. 

  • Communicates with cross-functional teams, including procurement, external vendors, and transportation, to develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Monitors and examines key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, such as on-time patient trips, transportation costs, and vehicle inventory levels; identifying trends and areas for improvement.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with transportation service providers and vendors, negotiating contracts, evaluating performance, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

  • Design and continuously improve a data-driven vehicle allocation model that aligns fleet assets with patient demand, geographic distribution, and operational goals.

  • Identifies and implements technological solutions to enhance logistics operations, such as implementing transportation management systems or leveraging data analytics tools.

  • Communicates with center teams and service providers to ensure timely and accurate vehicle fulfillment, driver hiring, and addressing any logistics-related issues or team inquiries.

  • Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in logistics, incorporating relevant knowledge into strategic planning and recommending process enhancements.

  • Maintain and manage access to transportation technology platforms, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate, clean data inputs.

  • Assist centers with best practices for scheduling patient transportation to optimize schedules and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction while also being good stewards of transportation services through a compliance and financial lens.

  • Monitor and report on the Compliant use of transportation assets and accounts. 

  • Coordinate with our contracted vendors to apply warranty coverage for mechanical defects within the vehicle fleet.

  • Coordinate with the vehicle dealership to ensure pre and post delivery inspections of assets occur and any damage or defects have been completed and documented.

  • Track and report on vehicle use, compliance adherence, and service outcomes using internal systems and external data sources.

  • Coordinate with vendors and dealerships on vehicle acquisition, warranty claims, inspection processes, and asset delivery logistics.
