Job Description:

Position Summary: 

This position will be part of the xEV team for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for the Maintenance group. The purpose of the Maintenance Coordinator position is to support production, coordinate maintenance activities, oversee machine repairs and provide direction to the maintenance group to achieve required goals. This position is responsible for adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures including NPI project management guidelines and mass production support.  This position will provide oversight for xEV Maintenance department’s short and long term goals while ensuring achievement of performance targets set by senior management. The Maintenance Coordinator will lead the Maintenance team during the development, installation, launch and mass production support by providing technical and management support while also being a technical resource for the production lines.  This position offers opportunities to work with a wide variety of departments and levels of management within the company both domestic and international.  

Essential functions of this job include: 

  • Confirm that equipment is installed, maintained, working properly and meets required specification 

  • Coordinate activity for Maintenance and Tech Staff members within the Maintenance department 

  • Ensure that department targets are maintained as set by plant management 

  • Develop staff for increased proficiency and with a focus on succession planning 

  • Communicate equipment/production line technical status to plant management 

  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans in conjunction with the engineering department 

  • Develop spare parts system for ensuring proper maintenance 

  • Maintain shop equipment and training records for maintenance and engineering members 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): 

  • 4-year degree (Engineering, Manufacturing systems, or related technical discipline) 

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience 

  • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties 

  • Knowledge of maintenance regulations and codes  

  • Knowledge of TPM methodologies  

  • Knowledge/experience with troubleshooting production equipment  

  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and PLC and Robot programming 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Flexible in working shifts as required to meet production schedules 

  • Knowledge/experience with power electronics or powertrain manufacturing 

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes  

 

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): 

  • Work experience in automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices 

  • Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors 

  • Fluency in Japanese language 

  • Knowledge/experience with automotive power electronics  

  • Experience with torque drivers, fluid dispersion systems and laser/vison detection equipment 

 

Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions: 

  • Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed 

  • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting 

  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday  

  • Ability to lift 35lbs from floor to a height of 4ft 

  • Ability to push or pull pallet jack up to 450lbs 

  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen 

  • Ability to travel for business (Domestic and Overseas) 

 

Software: 

  • Basic experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel  

  • CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) 

  • Ladder Logic – various platforms 

Production and Location Start-up Duties: 

  • Work within small team to develop new manufacturing location and new processes to support smooth mass production start-up of EV products. 

  • Support Maintenance team in development, manufacturing and installation of the production equipment.  

  • Facility development and preparation for EV equipment installation and mass production.
