You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: To be qualified for this position at the GS-5 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: Utilizing database information for research purposes and maintaining information within that database; AND Using established guidelines to review files or documents for completeness; AND Providing customer service to various audiences through oral or written communication techniques. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 4 years above high school. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): Time-in-Grade: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
