Job Description:
At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This role monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions' Technology department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists with the development and installation of new hardware and software
- Installs and configures systems and other software
- Tests installed software for malfunction detection
- Identifies and resolves business systems issues
- Assists with the design and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
- Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
- Monitors and tests system performance
- Performs routine systems duties
- Performs daily actions focused on administering defined processes
- May have work thoroughly reviewed by more senior associates
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals to achieve a common objective
- Ability to conduct system analysis to detect issues with performance
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and software debugging
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
- Proficiency in Apex programming and working knowledge of Salesforce declarative tools.
- Hands-on experience using Salesforce OmniStudio.
Apex Development:
- Experience in Apex Classes, Triggers, Batch Apex, Queueable Apex, and Schedulers, including:
- Bulkification
- Exception handling
- Reusable code patterns
- High test coverage with unit tests
- Proficient in SOQL/SOSL, asynchronous processing, and integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs).
- Experience with CI/CD practices, including version control and automated deployments.
OmniStudio (Vlocity) Expertise:
- 1 years of experience with Salesforce OmniStudio.
- Proficient in designing and configuring:
- FlexCards – for dynamic, reusable UI components that display contextual data.
- OmniScripts – for guided, step-by-step user workflows and business processes.
- DataRaptors – for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Integration Procedures – for server-side logic and external API calls.
This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. The locations available for this role are Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.
