Description

Title: Fall Co-Op – Nondestructive Inspection (NDI)

Start/End Date: August 2025 through November 2025

Pay Rate: $18.00/per hour. Overtime available for 40+ hour weeks

Location: Main office is located at 5555 Commerce Boulevard, East Mobile, AL 36619 with most of the work being performed at our clients’ sites within the region with the potential for some national assignments.

Travel: Hotel accommodations, per diem and milage reimbursement expenses will be available in addition to paid travel time to the clients’ work sites.

Schedule: The work schedule is officially part-time but will include several assignments that may be 70+ hours per 7-day work week dependent on the outage schedule and site assignments.

Overview: As a Co-Op on the Nondestructive Inspection team at ATS, you will have the opportunity to partner with our team to support multiple projects on our clients’ sites within the region. The Co-Op is going to include direct hands-on general tasks related to these specialized inspection services.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with leaders and other NDI Technicians on general tasks related to the team.
  • Opportunity to learn and apply the industry various inspection methods and gain hands on experience.
  • Perform tasks as directed to prepare components or equipment for inspections.
  • Work alongside certified technicians to help complete projects and learn activities.
  • Interface with personnel to determine scope of work and work priorities to meet customer expectations.   
  • Help clean and organize equipment before, during, and at the completion of projects.
  • Document on job training experience as assigned by management.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Most work will be completed in an industrial environment including, but not limited to papermills, power generation, and manufacturing facilities.  
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc. 
  • Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc. 
  • Work in and around operating equipment and industrial environments. 
  • Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
  • Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
