In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Work on the Environmental, Health, and Safety team to research, design, plan, or perform engineering duties focused on industrial hygiene, safety engineering, environmental stewardship, fire protection, and/or radiological health. Institute new and innovative solutions and maintain environmental compliance. Manage air permitting activities around current and future construction projects. Initiate air modeling scenarios and review PSD applicability associated with all proposed emission sources. Calculate and track site air emissions and ensure operations adhere to all special conditions specified in the air permit and build and manage environmental compliance programs associated with new construction facilities. Develop SWPPP and SPCC plans by utilizing site specific information and enforce plan requirements throughout site operations. Perform management of change related to design aspects of construction and ensure all environmental impacts are captured within established compliance programs. Analyze data and interpret appropriate outcomes based on regulatory information. Utilize knowledge and experience with environmental engineering and technology, including design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues, and will apply knowledge of engineering principles and best practices to maintain and enhance compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
