About the role

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for the promotion of Carlisle HVAC Brands cotton insulation, sealants, adhesives, and hardware products into the commercial construction segment and the conversion of commercial project leads to sales opportunities. This job will require a minimum of at least 50% travel, therefore necessitating a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. This job will require aligning work hours with business needs, particularly in relation to the time zones of your clients and internal teams.The incumbent must have the ability to work from home in a dedicated workspace or a regional office.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Carlisle HVAC Brands cotton insulation, sealants, adhesives, and hardware products, understand their application and uses in commercial construction projects, and the value proposition compared to not in-kind insulation, sealant, adhesive, and hardware products.
  • Host educational seminars, both in-person and virtual to architects
  • Build and maintain relationships with key members of the project team, including owners, owner representatives, architects, construction managers, consultants, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors
  • Read and interpret construction documents; assist with the development of project-specific detail drawings; analyzing competitors’ specifications and determining the best alternative solutions.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of submittal packages
  • Utilize strong influencing and sales skills to drive the placement of materials in specifications
  • Actively engage in industry associations, including but not limited to AIA, ASCHE, BOMA, AHR, AHRI, SMACNA, IFMA, and/or NIA.
  • Log sales activities and track the status of projects using Salesforce.
  • Coordinate and conduct continuing education courses to architects.
  • Analyze commercial construction projects through construction industry analytical and software-based tools.
  • Develop qualified commercial project leads for transition to sales team and preferred contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize leads based on project plans and specification documents.
  • Experience with Dodge Data Analytics, BSD Spec Link, and Construct Connect Insight, ARCAT, Masterspec, and Deltek Specpoint.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying scopes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management skills
  • Willing to travel (Up to 50% or more)
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • Flexible work schedule; able to travel on evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to work from home office and/or regional office

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a sales or business development role
    • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • Preferred:
    • Prior building material and channel experience

Working Conditions:

  • Dedicated workspace with indoor environment conditions
  • Ability to have high-speed internet connection to facilitate video calls, CRM management and other related sales activities.
  • Ability to travel by plane or vehicle for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Visits to contractor sites may require that work take place outside of an environmentally controlled work space, including exposure to weather and temperature extremes.
