THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

Zalando’s Market Finance Team is looking for a Manager  Markets Finance (all genders). This role sits in Business Finance Organization (BFO) and forms the key interface between business Finance and the local specific commercial and strategic teams.

We are looking for a Manager (all genders) who will support projects contributing to the long term sustainable growth of the markets and with special focus to a dedicated market cluster. In this position, you will contribute to the success of the markets by standardising financial processes, bringing reporting to the next level to provide greater financial and commercial transparency while building business cases to provide data driven recommendations for the business. The scope of your work will be balanced between dedicated support of a market cluster as well as cross-market initiatives and global assignments. You bring strong financial and analytical skills combined with a great commercial understanding of the business. You will report to the Global Markets Finance Lead with a dotted line to the Lead of the dedicated market cluster while working closely with multiple cross-functional teams

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• As part of your weekly market cluster routine you support accurate short-term commercial steering by delivering high-quality weekly profitability outlooks. Enable decision-making by running simulations on commercial activations, offering insights into different investment options and their respective impacts.

• You support in preparing and presenting monthly performance reports, focusing on market reviews for your cluster. Contribute significantly to the cluster performance review process to support senior management decision-making. Drive automation and improvements to provide more actionable insights.

• You ensure alignment of targets and initiatives between local commercial/ functional teams and central Finance. Provide accurate financial projections and plan reviews to guide decision-making and facilitate a cohesive financial strategy across different teams to ensure a unified approach. 

• You review the weekly Zalando Business metrics (ZBM), report and follow-up underperformed KPIs in collaboration with data and business owners, support in  the cluster ZBM meetings and preparations.   

• You support and participate in cross-market projects and business case development. Ensure thorough financial analysis to guide decision-making, striving for continuous improvement of financial tools for better and faster decision-making.

• You create detailed reports, track KPIs, and model solutions to derive actionable insights from data. You utilise your passion for data analysis to drive recommendations that support business objectives.

• You maintain a hands-on mindset, readily supporting your team with ad-hoc requests and addressing business cases from stakeholders of your market cluster and cross markets.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You hold a degree (Bachelor, Master, MBA) in Economics, Business Administration or any related field

• You come with 3-5 years of experience in Finance, E-Commerce or in an analytical business role

• You have strong analytical skills, dive deep into numbers where needed while at the same time connect the dots and get exposure to the big picture

• You have great analytical skills to deliver a strong data-driven performance: You are an expert in MS Excel and Google Workspace. SAP, SQL and Tableau skills are a plus

• You come with a proactive and curious mindset, hands on and eager to continuously learn and improve with an ability to solve problems quickly and in a structured manner

• You convince with your excellent communication skills and are comfortable to connect with stakeholders to understand business needs and to share your view to colleagues on the basis of concepts and facts

• You are keen to learn and are looking to work in a fast-paced multinational environment

• You have an excellent command of verbal and written communication skills in English
