Department Overview

 

PG&E's Business Finance team provides critical financial support to its operational Business Partners within the company. This support includes financial analysis; budgeting, planning, and forecasting; monitoring, controlling, and accounting; operational performance reporting and analysis; and strategic planning and analysis. These services are critical to achieving the company's strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

Client Organization:

This role will support the Gas Operations organization. Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration, and emergency response.

 

Position Overview

 

In this role, you will serve as a Senior Business Finance Analyst supporting Gas Operations Corrosion Program and Corrosion Maintenance processes, which includes project-managed, program-managed, and unitized work in Distribution, Transmission, Capital, Expense, and Balancing Account/Non-Earnings. Additionally, you will serve as a strategic finance partner for these groups helping with planning, budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office 1-2x weekly or based on business needs or company requirements.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $98,000
Bay Area Maximum: $146,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Planning (Long Term): Develop, advise, and integrate the business unit financial plans and performance baselines to meet the Company's long term operational and financial objectives.
  • Forecasting (Short Term): Provide timely, balanced forward looking financial assessments that capture current performance and enable nimble, value optimized operational and financial decisions.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide timely and accurate monthly financial visibility that objectively assesses performance, and proactive financial analytics that identify opportunities, risks, and associated resolution recommendations.
  • Rate Case support: business case development / validation on an as-needed basis
  • Communicates recommendations and findings to leaders and officers.
  • Governance: Implement and maintain functional governance standards and provide feedback on areas of opportunity.
