The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform Mechanical System design of air systems for water/wastewater projects.
• Perform engineering calculations to develop equipment and system performance parameters for the purpose of sizing equipment and piping in air systems.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to select the most technically acceptable air system design solutions.
• Follow company and industry design practices in development of designs.
• Develop engineering work products for air systems including Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), Mechanical arrangement drawings, and equipment, piping and valve specifications.
• Review manufacturer's or contractor's submittals, data, reports, etc., for conformance with BV criteria.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines and project stakeholders.

The Team

This professional will sit within our Water/Wastewater Treatment team, which is apart of our greater BV Operations department. BV’s Treatment team provides comprehensive drinking water, wastewater, industrial water, recycled water, and residuals and odor control solutions. With agnostic and industry-leading technical expertise, we transform our clients’ treatment infrastructure to meet their current and future needs. From concept to reality, our clients trust us to plan, design, construct, commission and optimize their treatment infrastructure, facilities, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing detailed project drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with material selection and sizing of piping systems.
• Solid organizational and time management skills.
• Independent critical thinking skills.
• Autonomous and dependable with leadership skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

Engineer-in-training (EIT)

Professional Engineer (PE) license or be in active pursuit of such registration.

Work Environment/Schedule
