East Peoria Undercarriage has an exciting opportunity available as an Accountant where you can directly contribute to Caterpillar’s strategy of building a better and more sustainable world. This role is part of the East Peoria Undercarriage Operations team within the Integrated Components Division (ICD) of Caterpillar and works with a cross-functional team of accountants, engineers, supply chain, etc. In an operations role at Caterpillar, you work with the final commercial products being made and can directly see the impact of your contributions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop tools in a fast-paced and innovative global organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication and financial data analytics skills. This is a unique opportunity to be directly involved in the day-to-day operating activities of a manufacturing facility for Caterpillar.
What You Will Do:
- Monthly accountable financial reporting, forecasting and decision support including presenting and providing actionable insights, and recommendations to leadership.
- Creation of PowerBI dashboards for reporting and exploratory analysis as well as Ad-hoc data analysis, data processing, and data visualization.
- Analyze and understand financial impacts and communicate to cross-functional leadership to enable better decision making for accountable results and projects/business proposals.
- Collaborate with Operations as the business analyst, to understand their business and provide financial insights, and guidance on accounting issues.
- Capital Coordinator for the East Peoria Undercarriage Facility, and investment analysis on large capital projects.
What You Have:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Proficiency with Data Analytics & Visualization Experience especially within Power BI
- Experience with accountable reporting and forecasting
- Understanding of investment analysis and capital investments
- Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies in recurring processes
- Ability to learn and communicate complex financial analyses
- Enthusiasm for data processing, research, analytics, and problem solving
- Demonstrates teamwork, initiative, and interpersonal skills
- Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
