  • 20.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5.0 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. This position will assist in the transcription of recorded air traffic control audio requested by Collins Aerospace for the purpose of training voice recognition technology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Professionally utilize and care for software and hardware to include Express Scribe software, laptop computers, foot pedals, and audio headsets.
  • Listen, interpret, and manually transcribe 2.5 hours of recorded air traffic control audio.
  • Export individual .txt files that contain the transcription associated with the individual .wav files provided.
  • Coordinate with others to determine the names of hard to hear fixes and airports.
  • Follow the transcription guidelines provided.

Required Competencies

  • • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent organizational and computer skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have completed either AVIT 260 and/or AVIT 261.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
