The College’s Division of Pharmacy Practice is dedicated to advancing excellence in pharmacy education, research, and practice. This Research Associate role will involve helping to secure funded support for research programs and supporting the conduct and dissemination of research in the division of pharmacy practice and administrative sciences. The research associate will be expected to lead and contribute to the development of research grant proposals, help manage grant correspondence and paperwork, help conduct research (including obtaining necessary permissions, development of data collection instruments, data collection, and data analysis), collaborate with other members of the research team, and lead and support the dissemination of research projects. Research in the division of pharmacy practice and administrative sciences is broad and utilizes both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Projects may involve clinical program evaluation, public health program evaluation, medication therapy management program evaluation, scholarship of teaching and learning, pharmacoeconomic analysis, real-world data analysis, surveys, and interviews/focus groups.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the coordination of research studies in a particular discipline.
  • Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
  • Solve problems using combined research knowledge.
  • Independently works on whole projects/problems.
  • Contribute to the collective team effort.
  • Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data, interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
  • Analyze research results.
  • Organize data search and analysis procedures.
  • Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
  • Assist in the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
  • Accomplish assigned results for project/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
  • Serve as a seasoned level researcher.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field. Healthcare or scientific field preferred.

Required Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
  • May require experience with specialized software programs.<
