The Role
The Honest Company is seeking a highly analytical sales professional to join the team as our Business Planning Manager, Target. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maximizing and optimizing marketing investments at Target, while driving profitable growth. You are someone who uncovers data-driven insights and creates actions against them.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage the Trade + Retail Marketing budget and identify opportunities for optimization
- Own Joint Business Plan and Vendor Income, alongside Account Management
- Support the Sr. Director of Sales in developing a Trade spend strategy that effectively delivers net sales growth, market share growth and profitability for both Honest and Target
- Develop impactful reporting using syndicated data to provide actionable insights that support sales and marketing strategies
- Deliver regular monthly ROI analysis, competitive insights and KPI reporting
- Support the Sr. Director of Sales on national, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
- Support ongoing business development objectives with Target through monthly/bimonthly partnership meetings, line reviews, and Top to Tops
- Display a comprehensive understanding of products, product mixes, and product positioning to develop profitable and valuable revenue opportunities
- Have a clear understanding of Target’s dynamics to help set overall account marketing strategy + priorities
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 5+ years of experience in sales planning, trade management or category management within the CPG industry, experience working with Target required
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage trade spending, analysis and budgets
- Understanding of category management and experience using syndicated + customer data sources such as Circana, Nielsen, IRI and/or Target’s TCN data. Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Strong understanding of Target’s systems and portals
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, desire to deliver results
- Demonstrated record of achieving sales growth
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer and analytical skills. Specifically with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to create relationships and effectively collaborate with HQ team members from a remote location
- Solid understanding of P&L management, gross margin and pricing structures, impact of discounting and trade terms
- College or bachelor’s degree in business or similar major
