Description:The mission of the MSTP is to provide training in MAGTF operations across the range of military operations, within the context of a Joint and/or Combined Task Force environment, to improve the warfighting skills, with the main effort of providing training and support.
The day-to-day:CTI is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to provide expertise to the External Elements (EXELMS) section of MSTP to support MEF/MEB-level exercise design, planning, and execution. The EXELMS Intelligence Analyst reports to and receives work direction from the MSTP EXELMS Section Head. The successful candidate will have a well-rounded background in intelligence at varying echelons of command to include JTF, MEF, MEB, or MLG.
•Performs research of operational concepts and plan, conducts analysis of intelligence processes and determines information exchange requirements and requirements for joint subject matter expertise to support training.•Produces all required exercise planning products, to include Annex B and all required Appendices, Tabs, Exhibits to COCOM/JTF/Fleet-level operation orders. •Directly engages MEF/MEB level training audiences to capture training objectives and ensure their incorporation into the exercise scenario. •Attends conferences and meetings at the resident site and other locations off site; co-leads an Intelligence Working Group as part of an exercise design team at exercise planning conferences; translates customer training objectives into observable and measurable Intelligence training activities.•Advises active-duty and reserve officers at a simulated Higher and Adjacent Headquarters staff on the execution of planned exercise events in order to ensure all training objectives are met. •Performs as the Higher and Adjacent Headquarters Request for Information (RFI) Manager throughout the Exercise Life Cycle (ELC).•Adjusts work hours as necessary to support extended work hours in support of 12 to 24-hour continuous operations during events.
The qualifications (required):•Must be a US Citizen•Must have SECRET clearance •Minimum ten (10) years of Direct Relevant Experience or in a related functional area•Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college •Mid-Senior staff planning experience in Joint Operations Planning Process and/or the Marine Corps Planning Process at a JTF, MEF, MEB, Division, Wing, or MLG staff. •Experience writing orders in the USMC and Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) format, to include Annex B and all applicable Appendices/Tabs/Exhibits as required.•Experience with integrating multiple sources of intelligence, to include Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), Technical Intelligence (TECHINT) and Cyber Intelligence.•Experience conducting tactical and operational level planning at the conceptual, functional and detailed levels for service and functional component organizations, as well as joint headquarters organizations. •Capable of integrating the Intelligence Cycle, Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace, and Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operating Environment processes into exercises.•Completion of an appropriate level of professional military education such as Command and Staff College or War College. •Knowledge of, and operational experience, deploying and employing ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units and related equipment. Knowledge of IC databases and their role in aiding all-source analysis.
