Title:  Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) Lead Coordinator

Unit: Victim Advocacy & Services

Salary:  $60,000

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Director of the Victim Advocacy and Services Unit (VASU) and the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board (DVFRB) Program Manager (PM), the LAP Lead Coordinator will be required to successfully implement the goals and objectives outlined in an Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) grant program and perform a range of duties including technical assistance and training for employees of the criminal justice system, such as law enforcement, victim advocates, and personnel from domestic violence and sexual assault (DV/SA) programs, adult human sex trafficking programs, and batterer's intervention programs on LAP best-practices. The individual will also be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training law enforcement agencies and DV/SA programs to a new LAP database platform.

Grant Funding:

Candidates should note this position is funded through a 2-year Byrne SCIP grant.  The position may or may not be renewed depending, in part, on future grant awards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creating and disseminating LAP training materials such as flyers, brochures, videos, presentations, and other necessary deliverables.
• Planning, organizing, and presenting local and regional training sessions for law enforcement and domestic violence service providers on issues of domestic violence, lethality assessment, and LAP implementation. This may include presenting at local professional conferences. The LAP Coordinator will provide technical assistance and support to sites statewide implementing the LAP.
• Closely work with LAP software vendor to onboard participating law enforcement and DV/SA agencies to new LAP database platform. Communicate with vendors about onboarding and/or any issues with platform. The LAP coordinator will train onboarded agency personnel on how to use the platform.
• Develop new tools and procedures to accurately measure incoming LAP-related referrals to the statewide domestic violence hotline (SAFELINE) and local OAG certified or tribal DV/SA service providers. This can entail creating forms, excel sheets, and/or database files to systematically capture LAP-related data.
• Attending local and regional meetings organized by Oklahoma law enforcement organizations, such as the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association (OSA), Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), and the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), among others, to recruit agencies for LAP training and potential onboarding to new LAP database platform.
• Meet with law enforcement agency stakeholders, including Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs, and other agency or organization leaders to advocate for LAP implementation and training.  
• Maintaining training and other records related to the ICJR grant in compliance with established goals and objectives.
• Requesting accreditation for continuing education credits; maintaining and submitting training attendance records to appropriate accrediting agencies.
• Preparing reports related to the Byrne SCIP grant and collection of statistical information mandated by the grant to validate compliance with established goals and objectives by required deadlines.
• Attending meetings and training related to lethality assessment, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, human sex trafficking, and other types of crime victimization.
• Assisting with domestic violence-related research tasks as assigned by the Director of VASU and the DVFRB PM.
• Some travel will be required with the possibility of overnight stays.
