Position Overview:

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an Associate, Membership Operations. This position is part of the membership operations team and performs key research and data maintenance to assist with market research process.
We’re looking for a candidate who wants to learn new skill sets and grow within the organization. The successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and a passion for precision. If you enjoy research, data entry and can work efficiently in a fast-paced office setting, this position is for you.

We value in-person collaboration and the sense of community it brings. Therefore, if hired, you will be expected to be in the office at least 4 times per week. Our office is conveniently located in Washington, DC, just steps away from Gallery Place and Metro Center.

• Network Mapping: Support the growth goals of the membership & strategic development divisions by researching manufacturing sectors, companies and their senior executives through a variety of platforms to determine viability of prospective members, and areas of potential engagement. Update the data in our system. Research and report on sector specific industry association leadership changes and companies.
• Prospect Identification: Scan the news, analyze financial information, and research networks to identify new companies fit for membership.
• Total Addressable Market: Generate lists of companies by sector, size, and ownership type to identify growth opportunities and possible network connections.
• Industry News and Trends: Closely track manufacturing business news, trends and key sectors in the manufacturing economy, including plant openings/closings, mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs.
• Sector Health: Assist Associate Director in creation and maintaining reports on sector health. Track & analyze publicly available financial information on manufacturers.
• Data Maintenance & Hygiene: Maintain data integrity in our system of record (Salesforce), ensure reports work properly, collect, clean, and prepare data for analysis by the Associate Director, recommend process improvements for data collection and reporting.

We are looking for Team Players who meet the Following Criteria:

• College degree (preferably in marketing or research methods) or equivalent experience;
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a research, data, or operations role;
• Computer proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point), and the Internet;
• Proficiency in one or more statistical or analytical software (SPSS, R, Stata, Excel Pivot Tables, etc.)
• Salesforce experience preferred;
• Very strong organizational skills, attention to detail and high degree of accuracy;
• Clear speaking voice and good English skills;
• Ability to handle pressure in a quality, goal and deadline driven environment.
